This game started as an entry for the GMTK game jam 2023. I was in a group along with two amazing artists(Liese Van der Schueren and Cessane Nooy van der Kolff). For brainstorming we also got help from

Afterwards we wanted to continue working on this project. At this point another programmer joined our team(Stef Kluskens). We made a new prototype and pitched this to our school, for the course group projects, and got approved.
GMTK
The main challenge for this game was creating multiple stages/levels within the short time contraints. We made two levels, they both have a different playable character with different powers. Both levels also needed a boss with it's own unique behavior.
Out of the 6,820 entries in the game jam,
we ended up getting ranked #986 overall.

A lot of my time went into creating the camera system. During both prototyping and production I had to iterate the camera system a lot to fit our game. By doing this, I learned a lot about different ways to approach camera's in game, and the pitfalls that come with them.
Furthermore I created a system that persists in between levels to handle the "devolutions" and make sure the character has all the right abilities.
For this project I used the Unreal Engine Chaos system for realistic breaking of destructible objects and crumbling rocks.
I was responnnsible for the sound. I used Metasound to handle my SFX. For some of SFX I made foley recordings with the help of Valentijn Van Severen. Reaper was used for recording and editing.
